Wet washes of watercolor textured with salt and alcohol as a base for an unplanned organic painting technique. Accented the existing textures with more watercolor and just a little colored pencil, and the creatures are white ink, get pen and watercolor :) I like doing more freeform paintings like this to decompress in between large 10 - 40 hour pieces, which is nice as I prepare for a new 11"x14" painting I'll probably be spending at least 20 hours on.
The original painting is spoken for, but prints are available as an add on over on the kickstarter, and all backers set to get anything at all in the mail from me will receive a limited edition metallic mini print as a free bonus reward if stretch goal #3 is hit <3
On that note we are only $170 away from stretch goal #1, which will make “Desert Flower” available as a fine art print, as well as free bookmarks as a backer bonus reward! If sg #1 is hit before midnight on Monday the 29th, postcards of “Alice and the Flowers” will be included an extra backer bonus reward <3
