I'll do a more comprehensive write-up on things someday when all the information is sorted out and settled, but the TL;DR here is that this Hyper Metal Sonic (Hyper being the MS featured in the Sonic OVA) was around for at least a decade fighting his Sonic before eventually discovering his creator was gearing up to replace him. That uh. That didn't go so well!
