Cavaler de Sange - Brutal Hunter of Horrors

The Canidean

Yes, he is based on Bloodborne. Though in the Colmaton universe, it's actually the other way around - Bloodborne was based on tales of the De Sange family. Also, that IS Armani that he's wearing.

Blood Madness: When badly injured or heavily stressed, Nikolai will descend into a berserk state. His strength increases to be able to lift 5 tons without his suit (10 tons with the suit), run at 30 mph, and renders him immune to pain or psychic influence. However, he also becomes unable to tell friend from foe, and frequently succumbs to exhaustion once his rage has run its course

Fighting Styles:
One-handed ax fighting
Polearm fighting
Wrestling
Berserk fighting

Strengths:
-Old Money, Old Wisdom: The de Sange family, and later the Constantinescu family, have a large reserve of wealth, knowledge, and tradition that aids Nikolai in his duties
-Unlimited Ammo Cheat: Devorator's unique design means that as long as Nikolai can find something that will fit into the gun's "mouth", he will always have ammunition
-When You Stare Into The Abyss: Nikolai has been trained from birth to fight creatures of nightmares and madness, so it takes incredible power to unnerve him in the slightest

Weaknesses:
-The Sweet Blood, How It Sings To Me: When he descends into his berserk state, Nikolai will ignore his own safety and attempt to kill anything or anyone in his path, until he runs out of targets or succumbs to exhaustion
-Not Better To Be Feared: Due to the graphic nature of his kills, much of the world sees de Sange as a terrifying, bloodthirsty killer, causing most civilians to avoid him or flee from him rather than cooperate
-The Abyss Stares Back: Constant exposure to the worst any world can vomit up upon the earth can take a psychological toll on even the strongest, and Nikolai's family has a dark history of madness, depression, and suicide

Outfits:
Civilian: Normally business suits, or tuxedos for high-class events
Hero: Black power armor made of metal and high-strength composites, with a badger-striped helmet. Left eye is visible, right eye has a lens incorporating a water-holed stone. Chestplate includes power source in the head of a "death angel", and the shoulder plates have sculptings of skulls. Boots have claws. Also includes a silver brooch and a cape bearing the de Sange crest (A badger rampant on a field rouge, motto "In ceteris omnibus").

Bio: All the way back to the fall of Rome, and possibly even before that, the black forests and forlorn peaks of Romania have been a magnet for the macabre and unnatural. The knights from that lonely corner of Europe learned quickly that to excel, they needed not only the skill to fight their covetous neighbors, or the heathen Turks, but also the creatures that saw all of furkind as nothing more than food or sport. Of these, none were more exceptional - or more feared - than the noble line of de Sange. Famed for their immense strength, innovation, and resistance to arcane influence, they were at the same time dreaded for their secretive use of magic, their heavy-handed tactics, and their family curse - the Blood Frenzy, a state in which all a knight would desire is to bathe themselves in more and more blood. The family, members of the great European Knights, suffered heavily from inquisitions, as well as disease, war, and a tendency to take their own lives after seeing too many horrors. By 1889, only one de Sange was left - a female. She took another noble, Lord Constantinescu, as her husband, and thus passed on the de Sange powers and their obligation to hunt those that would devour furkind.

Now, following his father's suicide, Nikolai finds himself the last of the Constantinescu family. A great innovator and masterful investor, he has made his own weapons, or modified those of his ancestors. And again, like those before him, he has become a member of the Knights of Europe, in the hopes that if he finds himself drowning in the thirst for bloodshed and the darkness of despair, somebody might be there to help pull him out.

Personality: Subtlety is not Nikolai's strong suit while he's in costume. He has absolutely no qualms with tracking down his prey in the middle of a crowded street and graphically slaughtering them. It's not out of callousness, though - he knows that a monster in the midst of a crowd is often one step away from taking life, and waiting for it to be alone may result in lives lost. He is of a melancholy nature, prone to bouts of depression, along with grandiose speech. He is also quite aware of the passing of time, and the fact that if he dies before he finds a wife and has children, Romania's strongest line of guardians will die with him. When faced with aggravating circumstances, he will do very obvious calming exercises in a (usually) successful attempt to keep himself from going berserk.
