SOOOO After years of living devoid of any sort of arachnid companionship, after a shitty couple of weeks, I went to the pet store to check on the availability of certain filter media, and wandered (as always) over to the reptile corner. I'd been keeping my eye out for an Avicularia recently, and locally, on the off chance one showed up somewhere, as I wanted to keep a spider again, but not something like I used to keep (aka the "mean", very bitey, very painful venom having old world species). I just wanted a little, sweet spider pal.

Well, this girl (at least I hope) came home with me the other day. My girlfriend promptly gave her a name that is completely far too cute for a spider to have- Cuticles. I think it suits her, with her cute little pink toes and her very shy disposition.
