I can't get over the fact that after he lost his hand, he learned how to draw with the other one and kept doing what he loved.
After rewatching a couple of episodes, I was rather impressed that I could understand the plot of the episodes and characters as a kid, even considering the bunch of cryptic cultural references that it had. It was narrated in such way that it was pretty easy for a kid to understand it.
Still, I didn't watch too much of it back then because it scared me, heh
