Unfortunately, Taross doesn't know how to solve a curse like that so shi decided to pay a visit to the forest Kitsune witch who happily offers to make things right.

Unfortunately, she has a different idea of what is 'right'. Obviously, having a bovine lower body and a skunk tail looks a bit off, so she fixed it. Also gave Taross a pair of floppy ears to go with hir horns. And a freebie magic head detachment.
It looks like she was so proud of her handiwork that she adopted a few of the features herself. That, or the curse proliferates not just on anyone who lives in the home, but also on whomever tries to undo it.
Still, she seems unperturbed.
