In the grand multiverse of mad SCIENCE and magics, this particular version of Taross has had quite an odd and storied history.

Starting off as an intern at a science lab that experimented on evolution but did not take quite correct safety measures ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/37109704/ ). But taking their situation in stride to become the foremost leading researcher on this new arctic merlizard species ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/38361533/ ). But then thrown another wrench when a cheap costume for an offica party got turned factual ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/38540616/ ) ((And yes, that is a Buffy reference)).

But even that did not set hir back as shi decided to take on the little critters under hir auspice ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/39996879/ ). Plus, now technically being Divinity got hir invited to all the best parties at NewYears as well ( https://www.furaffinity.net/view/45499680/ ).

However... now... What if at some undetermined time some folks ran into old temples or depictions of this godess. A temple dedicated to the multi-taur and some of the tiny miracles shi would perform; such as creating squid and fish. But after time and wear such depictions would likely have decayed to make it hard to figure out what it really looked like.
And what if these well-meaning folks misinterpreted hir auspice and appearance from what they could glean? Finding that shi was suddenly being prayed to from an unexpected source, Taross decided to go peek in person to see what all the hubbub was about and got hirself a big surprise... A very big and long surprise...

See, I like the process of how Faith and Worship works as defined and worked out over the course of several books by Sir Terry Pratchett. It denotes that a God grows in power through Faith and followers with actual belief ( and with the species shi is taking care of all hale and living still, shi seems to be pretty set ). But they ALSO follow their appearance from that belief.
I point to the Epheban godess of Wisdom; Patina. Thanks to a sculptor who had no idea what an Owl looked like, the statues that were commissioned from him for many temples and places of worship ended up looking like she was perched on by a penguin instead. And because that is the image that people were praying to, that became her fate. So now the poor woman has to content with shepherding a penguin around wherever she goes.

And that brings us to the predicament of our newly very much elongated godess.
It appears that the very well-meaning folks who found this temple have completely gotten things wrong. But by getting it wrong they also got it right thanks to the sheer power of their faith. And Taross is left to explain what went wrong... or right... Unfortunately the image is out there now thanks to hir physical appearance so this might be hard to correct.

( Although this makes me wonder about the society. I would imagine at some point an offshoot of the feral little arctic merlizards evolved into a more sentient/sapient form. I would assume with some nudging by or all the exposure from Taross they would have ended up at least as merlizard-taurs; non-multi likely. It would make sense for them to erect such a temple and make a mural too. Perhaps at some point I will try and organize a co-operative image or the likes. Peoples usual characters as a merlizardtaur going about their day with Taross just mingling :D )
