Fault-Tec (working title) was a megacorporation that built a series of undisclosed underground installations during the "Atompunk" era of Bolton's Folly in anticipation of a nuclear apocalypse that didn't happen... Decades later, the facilities are sought out for a variety of reasons...but first, they have to be explored. Toxic air, asbestos, structural instability, radiological hazards...who knows what's in these abandoned elaborate underground bases. They were certainly less than Ragnarok-proof, although the designers probably assumed continuous maintenance by the inhabitants sealed inside...
