Day 72

The next stop on the cruise was Fichina, a planet known for being cold year-round and in recent years a perfect place for year-long ski resorts. Marketed as “The Eternal Winter Wonderland”, this would mean one thing: Wearing heavier clothes to compensate for the cold. Perhaps Fox would get a break here with everyone wearing padding.

However, the first problem was even while trying to find a jacket that’d look bulky, he still shied away from going on the slopes due to being afraid he’d be off-balance too easily. The second problem was who he ran into when he heard a certain voice call out “Hey genius, don’t tell me you forgot two of your old pals already!” …Falco, one of the people he REALLY did not want to see right now and as luck would have it, Slippy was also in company.

“Hey Fox! Good to see you!” Slippy cheered out in a more innocent manner. Fox turned around nervously to the two, replying “Eheh…good to see you both. What brings you two out here?” Falco replied “Hitting the slopes, which you look like you should be doing. Most good jackets don’t need to be that big though.”
Fox grumbled at this comment, trying to deny Falco’s accusation by saying “Ever the subtle one I see. Hardly changed a bit, have you?” Slippy replied obliviously “Well you know Falco by now!”

Falco then added “Has life with Krystal hasn’t made you soft. Wonder how she reacts to the idea of her mate sporting a beer belly under your jacket.”

The only comment Fox could send back was “Better than you, that’s for sure.” If his time with Bill was any indication, Falco would be ten times as bad with the fat jokes as Bill and without anything to learn about the old captain of the Lylat Cruiser on top of that. Fox could only hope Falco would get bored due not getting the reaction he’d want so he’d be left in peace. Just thinking about how to deal with the old “Primabardi”, as Falco came to be known as by some critics, was driving Fox to potentially binge out of stress once more.
