Growing up in a fishing town on the temperate Alaskan coastline, I've always felt a very strong connection to the sea. From as long as I can remember, one of my favorite ways to spend a free day was to go to the coast during low tide and just wander along the sea, over rocks and hills and tidepools, for miles and miles. I would see all kinds of interesting animals and secreted areas and be rewarded with the occasional treasure-able piece of f lotsam.
This commission was made to recall all those fun days spent just by myself and the smell of the sea air.
