A key feature of Shadows of Forbidden Gods is the formation of the Alliance of Humanity that starts in a fledgling state at the midgame and becomes the secondary threat of the lategame (main threat being the Chosen One). 
I personally often imagine SoFG taking place in the early Steam Age, where line infantry had begun to be dismantled into large-scale ACW fire-from-cover companies. In this iteration and the art that will follow using these fellows, the 'skirmishers' represent the alliance of humanity and their newfound tactics. Rather than beholding their canon glory, I will often use this design for victims of vore, TF, latex encasement, sinking, and other kinky nonsense themed after reimagined monstrosities from the game. Woe to the warriors of the world that will have to face off against Starfoth and his kinky apotheosis!
