Nose forms

StarborneWorks

Finally found a way around some problems in nose-making.

The noses want to be soft silicone, so the moulds have to be rigid. Either resin or fibreglass. Problem is noses have undercuts that would jam the original in the mold. Solution? Wax!

These are wax copies of the original form. They go in the vacuum-texture former, a mold is poured, then the wax gets melted out leaving a production mold!

At least that's the theory. I've only just hit upon a way of making the texture copy safely. The faux-leather with the right texture unfortunately turned out to melt with the usual fibreglass negative. I have a work-around now though.
