Sometime around Christmas of 1999, I was contacted by a fella who'd commissioned me in September for a picture of a dragon character out of a story he was writing. This time, he wanted to commission a picture of himself. We got to talking about stuff while I worked on it - since he didn't have any previous references, and he didn't have a written description like he did for Writh.

Ivory belly, grey shading to black on the back, with a line of ridges and a prehensile tail. Green eyes with golden flecks and catlike pupils. Glossy black horns and claws.

And somewhere in the talking, I made a friend.
