These guys can be pretty lazy most of the time but they eat a LOT in one sitting...so they can be even more lazy later. The tentacles along their necks have little venomous barbs at the tip *you can kind of see them exposed in the picture* so they wrangle things in water or on the surface; only using the barbs on bigger things. The mandible like protrusions in front of their eyes are flexible and are used for latching onto prey. They are only semi aquatic so when they hunt on land they usually barb things and track them for awhile until the prey dies. They also just generally claw things to death and can move quickly if they want to but only for a short amount of time; so it's good they have tentacles as an option haha. Some people also use the smaller ones as hunting companions and mounts. Most of the creatures in Laynair have a fair amount of intelligence measured by a system they call S.I (social intelligence) which factors in how well a creature can communicate with races and species other than it's own. These guys can give signals to the main races so they are decently high on the S.I scale.

There are cultures that revolve around this creature. Pairing young children up with them to work as partners gathering plant life and hunting. They form very close bonds with each other; and due to their capability of speech it is like having a huge body guard as a sibling.
