A friend was suggesting mythological creatures to me... and I realized I had heard of this beastie before, but just hadn't leapt upon the chance to draw it yet. So I then leapt upon the chance to draw it. :D

Bestiary Illustration-style digital sketch.... of this awesome creature. :D This is an Aztec mythological beast known as the Ahuizotl, known for lurking in waterways, especially near underwater caverns, and snatching humans and other animals from the water's edge with the hand on the end of its long tail. It seems to prefer human flesh, and goes first for the fingernails, eyes, and other sensitive yicky bits. Of course, those are the rumors. XD

I find it interesting that this creature somewhat resembles the modern-day reported sightings of Chupacabra (which is wildly different in Mexico and the southern United States than it was first reported in the Caribbean islands as a winged spine-back, hairy draconic figure) as a sort of slender doglike creature... though the Ahuizotl is far more interesting for me because of such strange features... Remeber Aipom, the Pokémon? XD Well, that, except it's a raccoon/wild dog thing, lives in the murky water, and is also stalking you. X3
