I'm not entirely sure why I suddenly had the urge to paint Mewtwo. It seems like ever since I fully bonded with the one I caught in Y he just like....bumped up in my list of favorites lol. Both of these are loosely based on sphinx cats (Mew more so), and Mew has a bit of a rodent influence as well.
About 13 hours of work, experimenting with Photoshop CS6 and various new techniques, brushes, and textures. Really, really happy with it. I think I'm going to try doing a few more paintings with this style.

Hahah I probably will! I pretty much only ever do realistic Pokemon. The hard part is retaining the patience and attention span to do a fully painted illustration XD

This is fantastic! I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into it, because this looks amazing. I love the wrinkles on Mew, and Mewtwo's feet are so cool looking. Really great job! I hope you'll paint more Pokemon sometime! :)
