Yep, it's official, definitely close to producing and selling keychains now! Here are the results from various different tests to see how the process can be done in a variety of different ways! Accidentally printed one of them way too big, but, that's okay. Detail stress testing is good to do at different sizes to get a feel for how long these things will take at scale.
The smaller keychains can be 3d printed in a little under 2 hours, and the larger one took around 5 hours. The engravings themselves take around 40 minutes to an hour for the smaller keychains, assuming the highest level of detail. I had a lot of fun making these, and I definitely need to rummage around to create more textures. The abstract textures were created in a mix of blender and material maker. They are then overlayed onto a cutting plane which slices the 3d printed cage into 2 parts, allowing me to get these sick looking cages for the engravings!! They add a lot of pop, especially with the black and gold colors. I have some dual color pla material for 3d printing I may need to play around with for these...
