Welll...I did not intend to have such a long drought in between pages, but it's a thing that happened anyway. A loooot of this year has been dedicated to getting out of a hella bad situation and recovering through the mental health bullshit that's the inevitable fallout, as well as starting a new relationship, moving across the country, and changing my career, soooo...it's been a lot. I still don't really feel like I have my feet under me after all these months out here, and I'm still holding my breath expecting all these amazing things to vanish into one extended dream, and to be back where I started out...but so far, so good. And so far, I'm still here.

So yeah, that's really, really rad.

I am sorry that the fallout has ended up slowing down my ability to tell these stories, but yeah...when my spare time and energy gets squeezed, these important-to-me-but-largely-personal-things take a lot of the brunt of it. Which sucks, because I want to tell these stories so bad. And because we're in the middle of the second-to-last scene in this issue, which is pretty fucking awesome. Yeah, unless I end up feeling the Unexpected Need to move some panels around or Do A Quick Re-write, issue one will end on page 58, so we've only got 9 more left, which is wild. (I guess I'm not sure if the whole issue reads as a story or as an introduction...which it kinda is? Chaos, I have so, so many concepts I've only just introduced in this story...)

After that, I'll need to get into the actual writing of issue 2, and I have outlined through issue 4, with issue 5's outline still needing work to make sure it brings all the themes, plotlines, and characters to a head with the arc's culmination...And like...that's A Thing...!

So, I love writing, and I love drawing, and I love storytelling...but my life is pretty full, and Time to work on things can be pretty hard to come by. And something I've long, long noticed is that it's a lot quicker to Just Write a Story than to Draw a Comic of It.

Soo...I'm thinking that it might be a good idea for me to start making New Normal as an illustrated light novel starting with issue 2, in the name of Actually Telling the Damn Story. I have a lot of story to tell, a lot of characters to explore, and a lot of TFs I want to get into, and also, like, themes and an overaching plot, and all that good shit. Soooo, yeah. That's a thing I've been thinking about for a bit.
