Shot this in a period of heavy rainfall, so some normally dry areas were flooded, and was able to get this shot. Do believe the water is part of the Trinity River (aka the river you dont go swimming in, or you wind up like melty man form Robocop). I'm unsure, because generally the river is pretty, well, non-existant, especially in the summer.
