Upon my visit to the Tibetan monetarists I came across a most curious sight. Before me stood or rather hung a strange figure, its body appeared to be similar to that of the Panthera uncia yet its markings were quite strange. With no spots and skulls upon its back i found myself very intrigued. I turned to my helpful guide Pema who gave a long suffering sigh and quickly explained to me that this was a creature named Jangbu , an evil creature indeed who steals the souls of all humans who dare to cross his path. I laughed of course this was no doubt one of the myths they liked to tell to scare us travelers asking why he hung like this she explained that this is simply how he sleeps so he can unnerve guests. Again i laughed who did this woman think she was fooling with such tales?

Yet as i turned to view a painting upon the back of the wall i herd a faint grumble, i turned and this Jangbu creature had left with no sign he had ever been there! Suffice to say sleep evaded me that winters night" - 1822
