Thistle-linework

SnowblindOtter

Well, I'm not exactly sure what to say about this one, at this point... it's beautiful, and, I can hardly believe that it came A) out of my brain, and, B) from my own hard work! To date, this is--I believe-- my most complex and technically demanding art piece, and, my absolute best drawing, period. The anatomy, the pose, the execution... I am not ashamed to admit I am thoroughly shocked that I was able to produce such results! I have to thank both Mark Crilley, and, Camilla D'Errico, for their creating tutorials that can help people learn such an expressive style of artwork!

This entire picture, as it is now, was inspired simply by seeing a thistle on Google Images; Thistles happen to be my favorite flower, and, in this case, happened to become the inspiration for me attempting something that, up until now, I had been too afraid to continue with. I think over the course of this year, I will work on adding a background to this drawing, and, turn it into a fledged painting. By all means, please! Tell me what you think! I am eager to know what people have to say about it!

Artwork and Character is my intellectual property.
Dream Eater and Kingdom Hearts is copyright to Disney and Square Enix.

Drawn in Painttool SAI, sketch-removal and minor tweaking added in GIMP2.8
Screentone texture not done from template(No, I'm not even kidding you... I seriously spent six hours in SAI putting nearly 3/4 of a million little black dots on a 12X12 inch canvas for creating screentones in GIMP.).

Footnote: This was originally intended to be a depressing image of a girl crying, but, Pandora played Days Go By, by the Offspring, and, well, you know how a muse goes!
