SAY IT AGAIN!

Sneak

Alarek paused as the forms of two dragons appeared before him. "I don't want to start anything with you two tonight." he hissed curtly.

"Oh? Well we do." one of the voices returned. "You're throwing your eternity away, Alarek. We're going to make sure you return your thoughts to the tasks at hand. To your position, to your role in the hierarchy."

"Yeah? And what exactly do you mean by that? Are you going to threaten to lock me up and force me to do the bidding of the Elders? Are you going to try to beat the life out of me once more?" he spat furiously.

The dragon in the shadows chortled under his breath. "No, dear Alarek. We understand we cannot keep you from your Dragoness... so we've decided to dispose of her." the dragon cooed as he stepped forward from the darkness, allowing the moonlight to illuminate his sinister grin. "That pathetic bag of scales wasn't good enough for you anyhow... you really should be thanking us for ridding you of her company."

Alarek's eyes grew wide as the dragon's words hit him with an unrelenting force. Lungs began to take in and dispense of air at an alarming rate, panic overtook him as he realized he had left his mate in the care of the Guardians of the Elders for the better half of the day. She was most certainly gone, it was far too late. In a moment of sheer terror, adrenaline, and overwhelming anger the insults hurled at his murdered mate hit him. He felt as though at this moment, defending her honor would be the only piece of her he could possibly protect.

"SAY IT AGAIN, VAREK." he roared angrily as his eyes BURNED with hate. "SAY IT AGAIN SO I CAN HEAR YOU CHOKE YOUR MESSAGE OF HATE THROUGH YOUR OWN FUCKING BLOOD!"

"Oh! Look Ramekh, Alarek is back!" he hissed playfully behind him, "All it took was gutting that miserable skink he was so attache--" like a flash of lightning, Alarek lunged at the pale dragon wrapping his teeth around his upper neck, sinking them into the soft flesh guarding his windpipe. Alarek thrashed his head side to side and locked around Varek's body, ripping into his throat.

What Alarek failed to notice in his attack were the throngs of dragons coming to Varek's aide. It was an ambush, and Alarek had made a fatal decision in his pursuit for vengeance.
