Gateiros~

The Gateiros are a species found on Milijarda that have their roots in genetic engineering. They are the result of scientists trying to creat a being with the strength of a Gigai and the elemental prowess of a Fae. A few hundred were created in labs as intended weapons, but funding for the project was eventually cut. They were released, and over a period of forty years, their numbers have reached in the thousands.
They have the basic body structure of a Fae, but with more developed muscles. They have fur that frames their faces, similar to a Gigai, and possess a pair of slender horns set just above their ears. Some do possess the color markings of a Fae and the hooves of a Gigai, but some do not. Gateiros have fine coats of fur covering their bodies, but the hair on their heads is usually long and voluminous. While both Fae and Gigai tend to have long tails, Gateiros tails tend to be short, but the fur on the ends can be just as voluminous as what's found on their heads.
As far as clothing goes, Gateiros wear very little, and sometimes none at all. They feel that they are able to perform better without such things restricting their movements. They possess organic metals in their bodies such as the Fae di, but it is found in their skin instead of their skeletal structure. This makes them near impervious to injury, and they can only be damaged by each other, by weapons forged with the same organic metals, or from the inside out.
The majority of the Gateiros population are hermaphrodites, but pure males and females do crop up, with the males resembling more of the Gigai, and the females resembling more of the Fae. Gateiros inherited the same aggressive nature that Gigai display toward the protection of their females and will beat down those that harm them into a bloody pulp.
When two Gateiros decide to become a mated pair, the two will engage in a ritualistic fight to determine who will be the one to carry the young, and it will often get physical and aggressive. The one left standing is to be the dominant mate, and he will make sure that any wounds inflicted on the other will be treated and cared for before the initial mating takes place. The fight does not occur if pure males or females are involved.
Gestation for Gateiros usually lasts between three and a half to four months, with the babies being born with a full coat of down fur. Between one and two puos are usually born at a time, with three being born on rare occassions. The pups are usually breastfed until about eight months of age, when solid foods are introduced.
Gateiros reach sexual maturity at fourteen years of age, with pure females reaching at twelve and males at sixteen. Their bodies become fully developed around the age of twenty-five, at which time, the aging process comes to a near halt. They retain their youthfulness for most, if not all their lives. However, like with Fae, their colors tend to fade out with age, indicating how old they are.
