Wherein guards at the door are rarely a problem in fiction, one way or the other. I'm not all that confident about drawing action sequences, but I think this all came out okay. Sorry for the lateness of this week's strip; unforeseen problems this week. I won't make a habit of it.

Keeping your thumb extended is, in any case, a dangerous idea. What if the opponent moves and it is your thumb that gets snagged on?
I'm no expert at martial arts, but I practiced for a few years - one thing I learned /very/ quickly is that any strike that wasn't done with a tightly clenched fist or the outer edge of the palm (not the finger, palm) resulted in very painful and long-lasting bruises.

Very nice.. but striking with a thumb extended like that risks a very nasty injury.
