I’m trying to do that “greyscale values first, colors after” way of coloring, but I’m having some serious trouble actually laying down the colors on the values after :( I think my values aren’t really irredeemably bad (though now I think I should have more bounce light in the shadow side of his face/neck/shoulder…) but adding the colors is just so hard and I don’t know why :<

Maybe I’m trying to be a tad too precise? I dunno. I always see people just painting the colors easily on an overlay-layer but when I try that I usually just end up having to merge the layers down and doing some manual color correction in great amounts. I think I might be picking up the wrong base colors then???

Ugh. I just feel like I get stuff done faster if I jump straight into using colors but I’m afraid it stunts my ability to pick good values on the long run…
