Moonlight Terror by Sirfy

Moonlight Terror

Sirfy

Vegeta smiles over at Goku, holding his hand out..palm up as a ball of light appeared.

"Your father was an average fighter, but he was a brilliant scientist. Who else but him would have thought to create an energy source that perfectly simulated full moonlight."

Vegeta tossed the ball of light into the sky, exploding with vibrant light. When Goku looked back at Vegeta, he noticed he was beginning to change...

Done a few years ago. So this was totally inspired by..well..DragonBallZ of course, but episode 23 when Vegeta created a fake moon in order to transform. At the end it showed Vegeta in a similar manner..only he looked much cooler on the show. Instantly what went through my mind was "I have to draw him like that..." He's one of my favorite characters, next to Piccolo and Android 17.

The episode this picture was inspired from was during the day, but I wanted to work with something else for a real background, and did a cloudy night scene. I'm extremely happy with the background, as simple as it is, but I did it from scratch :D It does pay to do the background after you do the base colors and before the shading...so much easier to shade that way!

I tried something different with this that I been wanting to attempt for a while. I want to draw more fanart, but I hate drawing in an anime style. So I took the anime character, and did my best to draw and color it in a non-anime style. There are some anime elements in there, like the eyes and perhaps the ears, but it was my first attempt at making a non-anime style fanart. I was mainly focusing on having the shading and hair be a non-anime style. I think I did good with it :) Kenshin and others will be easier, since their hair isn't spiked to hell and back. That's why I went with a wind-blown look..easy to work with XD
