Icy eyes

SirButts

"When asked to describe Mr. Day in few words, I often have to stop and think. As a journalist, I am trained to take the most apparent traits and quirks of a person and cook it down into a small puddle of words. Yet with Mr. Day, I always remain puzzled. One could point out his seemingly androgynous face, high cheekbones and obsidian shiny hair that flops down on the left side of his face, or his choice of wardrobe with pea coats and cable knit day in and day out. Perhaps you would describe his way of being open yet secretive, a person - which even through years of working together - seem like a stranger. But despite all this, what stands out most to me is his eyes. The brightest, iciest blue I may ever have seen in my life, like crystals shining behind the bars of heavy lids and a piercing stare that could cut through flesh and bones and bark and iron. I would trust my life with that man, but even then, there is something about that stare that make me uneasy.
But to not pause for longer than needed, I came across a sentence that I have been using for questions like these, which remain the closest to a short description I have found:

“He’s like a tiger stalking a baby deer.”"
