i'm entirely self taught and know almost nothing about music so i can't really give any specific tips but everyone starts somewhere, it took me a while to get used to lmms and even then im still learning but I would suggest poking around and experimenting with it however you can, and look up tutorials for how to use it too. it has a bunch of preset instruments but you can also make your own
