The most important reason why I own a firearm and have learned how to operate and maintain it is for the purpose of defense. This defense is not only a defense against some thug who wishes to kill me for what little cash I have, but also against groups of people who would kill me for who I am and what I believe. Gun control isn't about guns, but about power. The power to rule with impunity and to silence dissent. The reason for the Second Amendment is to prevent tyranny and to protect the other amendments. It is not about hunting or sport.
