Goddess Hunt and Frostbite by silverybeast

Goddess Hunt and Frostbite

silverybeast

If the beast she commands comes to you, she's on her guard. Fall back. Her pet kills you like a wintry night, leaving only a frostbitten corpse behind.

They say she's wild and voluptuous, how the warmth of her sweetest love chases the cold away... he lures men to the freezing wasteland, but she's just teasing us. She wants to play games, she wants to be wanted.

Though she doesn't trust us. The beast is her guard, and he doesn't hesitate to attack.

Frostbite is a feline spirit, you couldn't possibly kill him like any regular animal, he's too great for a mortal to defeat... and that's why the hunters who go after the goddess so seldom return. We find them days after, taken by ruthless freeze.

She has rules, she wants to play fair. But a young man's lust can bedim his mind and then he forgets about the rules.

She wants a player. A hunter, who is after victory, not prey. Only then she will tell her pet to back off and allow the aspirant to approach safely.

And the ones who get their victory, the ones who get their prize... we never find their frozen corpses. We don't ever see them again at all.

Because only the ones who give up ever return.

It's her game. The game in which we don't really know what the prize is, but still we have the wildest fantasies of what follows of catching her.

I saw her again yesterday, watching over the village at dawn before she was gone.
