I could one-up the cringe, but my stories about my volunteer job at a thrift store / food bank & "life-ban" from a pawn shop are long. But short one: I was actually banned from a store because I "bothered" the person behind the counter doing the same thing. He was behind the checkout counter, got mad at me, checked me out, waited until I was outside and banned me, not only from the store but the state of Georgia. I did nothing wrong, went back the next day and got unbanned. His excuse? "This little mf-er bothered me when I was reading." It wasn't his break time. He was "warned". (Sorry for the story.)
