It had started as mere excersise and learning for the infant; after all it couldnt learn and thrive in the labs. A failed experiment, but they couldn't just leave the boy. At least, he couldn't. But when his Rhakshia counter part offered to teach the child how to walk, he had thrust out excuse after excuse only realizing it was jealousy when he had literally lifted the infant out of his colleges hand with a firm no ill do it. After all it couldnt be that hard to teach him.
