After reading the Dunwich Horror, I just really wanted to draw some whip-poor-wills. Whip-poor-wills are such silly looking birds, so what better thing to do then draw them in fancy Victorian attire?

oh man Dunwich Horror is a good story. I'm fond of whip-poor-wills (and nightjars in general) and holy crap I'm dying here

It is probably one of my favorite Lovecraft stories (or at least favorite of the ones I have read so far).
Haha! Thanks. Nightjars are such ridiculous looking birds. Their beaks are so deceptively teeny-tiny and then when they actually open their mouth, it's like "HOLY SHIT! Wasn't expecting that!"
