Xanti and his human lover, Zeke.

Reptile hybrids, especially constrictors, are bastardized by humans and other hybrids as being cold, detached, aggressive, and almost sociopathic, so Xanti was bullied a lot as a child. When he is hit in the back of his neck by a parent who doesn't want him to go to the same high school as his children, Zeke tries to come to his rescue. They make quick friends and Zeke helps to get the shy and introverted Xanti out of his shell. Xanti and Zeke might play with others, but they are never far apart from each other.
