Anywho, poor Shinden had to make an emergency landing on a small island in the middle of the Pacific. Unfortunately for him...it turned out to be inhabited by a cargo cult....guess they're trying to get the big shiny metal birds to return by showering the poor wolf with offerings.....someone isnt going anywhere any time soon heh...

Cargo Cults are actually a real phenomenon. They sprung up after WW2 in the South Pacific. Native islanders, who had never seen aircraft before, suddenly found themselves receiving supplies and goods from the skies as airfields popped up all over. When the war ended, the planes stopped coming, so in the hopes they would return, natives would construct model airplanes out of bambo, make towers and runways, and perform rituals so that these aircraft would return and bring them the goods they had once been given.
