"See that lady with the weird ears and tail? Yeah, her. That clueless dope is my trainer. I know, sad, right? She’s an amnesiac, so she doesn’t really remember anything about herself or anyone in her life—whatever she might have done or who she’s known, it’s all gone. Just, wiped from her head, or maybe it’s still locked up in there. Either way, she doesn’t really understand a lot and kind of always has this lost look on her face without actually looking lost.

Apparently, she’s something called a ‘werewolf’. Yes, I know. Weird again, right? But she changes, just like a pokémon, and on every full moon. Only, she doesn’t stay that way. She can change back, sometimes at will. Kind of jealous. But it makes her stronger than any human I’ve ever met, and no offense, she kind of needs that sturdiness. She sometimes tends to forget that she has pokémon with her, and rushes off to take care of adversaries—pokémon or human—on her own. She can handle herself, no doubt, but she doesn’t need to. She has us, you know? She doesn’t have to do it all alone.

We didn’t quite like each other from the start, but we’re slowly warming up to one another. She allows me to sit on her shoulders when we’re traveling, and in return, I don’t bite her ears or her tail…most of the time."

No, not really. He's a rude smug little brat, but Lupin balances him out well enough. :P That doesn't lessen the blow that he's painfully earnest about her, though.
