At a month in of essentially being afraid to touch herself or anyone else lest Ira not be proven right, she's grown stressed and distant. She's surly, passive-aggressive, and pent up. Ira can't take any pleasure in her outlets without thinking about winning a stupid argument, which leads to thinking about other things, then the circuitous path leading back to winning the stupid argument by not thinking of those distractions.

Ira's fixation has led her toward her worse self. And that worse self is a nit-picky horndog.
