Clouded Leopard Poems by Sharako

Clouded Leopard Poems

Sleek and agile

Climbing through the trees

As the clouds touch the trees

They usher me in

I will be unseen

The last of my kind

Hidden in the clouds

As they pass by unheard

So to will I pass with out a sound

From the living memory of the planet

In to the extinction given

By those who forget where they came.

The clouded leopard walked home one day

And what he saw brought him much dismay

He said “Hey! My home has been cut away”

“Where now shall I roam?”

“ If I have no home.”

The leopard cried

“This was where I abide”

“But it all has Died.”

Clouded leopards roam the streets

Loud and clear as the roar

Outraged by the lack of care

Unrest from the forest as the animals

Descend on the city demanding for

Equal rites among the species of the world

Deliver us our land back

Land that was wrongfully taken

Employ your knowledge to save us

Oppress the forest not

Pay heed to our warning

Awaken your eyes man or

Reap the

Dead seeds you sow
