Kenoscope commission - At the sound of the cannon

Commission for kenoscope

He is the only person in almost 2 years that have requested a traditional piece from me, and I have to say: I love working traditional! X3 the feel of the paper, the smell of the materials!

Back to the commission, this image is based on a new story he is writing n___n Cellie Gurnlen ,a Reptillian female warrior, experiencing her first battle. This is an insert of the story:

" A brilliant flare of chemical fire and white smoke suddenly billowed from the ridge and in response I gently rode my mount over to the three waiting cannons. “If you will Master of Cannons, please fire the signal” I asked as sweetly as I could. My answer was a demon grin from the much older man, then he turned to his soldiers.

“By the numbers. One!” A load boom filled my ears and my mount almost threw me. Moments later I barely heard the word “Two!” This boom was a bit duller, or both my mount and I were deafened somewhat, I certainly never heard “And THREE!”

It was surprisingly silent after that third cannon shot. I could see the men working to reload their weapons but try as I could I couldn’t hear anything. Then the ground moved under my mount and it did throw me. Hands quickly came to my service, helping me stand, men dusting dirt off my clothing without thought to the difference in station. So much for my high dignity I decided as a heavy rumble filled what was left of my hearing. Turning to look at the pass all I could see was a massive cloud of dust then the savagely grinning man beside me screamed “As they bear my children, and fire all.”"

This is an example of my traditional lineart commissions
