The Inta

Intas are a small- to medium-sized type of Fheg-Jek.

Made out of
Bones and bone plates, fur, plastic, and some sort of stuffing (moss is often used - often only the head and legs are stuffed, and the belly kept empty)

Designed by
Lyat

Reproduce
Yes, technically, by ingesting (purposefully or accidentally) another's matter and some of their captured souls, new "life" has been known to develop. This is somewhat dangerous for the inta bearing the little ones, though, as tiny intas are just as eager to explore the world and have been known to claw their way out. While the plastic bellies can be ruptured for a while, too much exposure allows for the souls fueling the inta to escape, leaving only the lifeless vessel behind (which can be restuffed, of course, although it may lose some of its memories).

Etc
Traits often include medium to large ears, hyper-sensitive noses, and five-toed textured paws.

Intas are expert trackers, and will unshakably follow a scent (of a master's will or of their own volition) until they've found the source. Many an inta has wandered away from its home in search of a scent, only to pop up days, weeks, months, or (more often than you'd expect) years later, covered in dirt, belly full of its findings, happily wagging its tail. Their paw pads make it easy to drop intas into damp cave systems to search for stashed treasures.

Their stomachs are an interesting, useful feature, usually made of plastic to allow for easy access to whatever the inta has eaten. Since intas cannot expel matter, this removal can sometimes be unpleasant, depending on what the inta has decided is worth ingesting. While the plastic can easily be restored or replaced, lazy owners will simply tape it back. It isn’t uncommon to see inta running around with their bellies covered in duct tape. This may look a little strange, but the inta don't notice or care.
