Bert the Paranoid Turtle

Paranoia: When ducking and covering isn't enough.

Those of you were were around during the 50's, or just happened to have stumbled across a certain old civil defense video might remember Bert the Turtle from the (in)famous Duck and Cover film. For those of you who haven't heard of it, it's a little video that was used to teach children that in the case of an unexpected nuclear attack, you should duck (preferably under an object) and cover your head (sometimes with things like newspaper, if possible), and it would protect you from the attack. I realize that it probably wasn't such a funny thing at the time, and the fear of getting nuked is hardly something kids should have instilled into them, but after all this time has passed, it's a bit hard not to poke at least a little fun at the whole thing.

Anyway, I have no idea what got into me, or why I decided to draw Bert. Originally, he was pretty normal, but I sorta started adding and soon he had a gas mask and pistol. And... err... yay for randomness.
