Morning'Gale is remarkably resiliant, though. At least according to the Introduction to Chakats, many chakats will simply die within weeks or months after the loss of a closely bonded lifemate, politely nodded as a broken heart, but more often than not it's suicide by neglect of staying in bed, not eating, and wasting away. One often needs a good, close circle of friends to pull one out of that. Wonder if that was partially why Gale is largely friendless now, hir needs then simply outweighed what hir friends could continue to offer and paths parted.

Granted, this is all speculative!
