Latest commission for Lyze :3


My favorite thing about drawing Lyze is I've done it so often it's fun and comfortable to play a bit with the character's design.
Bet I could draw him from memory too.

Whenever I draw Lyze I make sure to push my limits and use it as a benchmark to see how my default artstyle is evolving.
Really really happy with how much better from the last one this turned out I think

Notably this is the second one I make with Krita using the blendy brush and wow am I starting to Get It now.
Been practicing adding in simple BGs. They're cute but nothing to write home about yet imho, but what I'm really happy with lately is my experimenting with adding a good spoonful of texture and cheaty but pretty rimlight :3

When I add a lot of texture I always try to go for 2 objectives :
- Distinguish things with texture a bit. Fluffy is fun but not everything needs to look fluffy (Controversial)
More important:
- Reach a point where I can think "I wanna pet it", then it's good enough
