Loved the idea I had for this macro cute commission but ended up overly ambitious and intimidated by all the vague work I considered still having to do.
Like it enough that I want to post it, wish there was more wholesome cute macro content in general.
Macro is intrisically harder than a lot of other themes imho because it immediately requires conveying a sense of scale with one way or another. Character can't be giant in a vacuum, it needs something to compare to.
Really happy with :
- How I drew lyze's shirt. It's got an interesting design, fun colors and seemed really hard to get right but I think I did.
- Major gremlin energy for the riders (Zooty and Dream)
- The cute mouse character on Lyze's head. Don't usually draw cute pastel characters but it turned out good, really like the pose I came up with.
- Finding an excuse to draw furriends cameos
- Finding an excuse to draw really basic versions of my 4 punk rock band OCs in bottom right (Todd, Mohammed, Kate, Louis). Todd wants ice cream but he forgor his wallet.
- The fact lyze has a wristwrap as a safety. I like to think the current riders would be the kind of gremlins to ask him to drop the rocket for Xtra Xtreme vibes without noticing he actually can.
