Had this idea for a while and wondered how well it'd work.
Turns out it works pretty well :)

Cloudwatching.

Just chilling, laying back and going : "This cloud looks like a X, do you see it?"
This stems from that idea.

I had fun now and then drawing outlines inside countries, clouds and other abstract natural shapes to share what I see to my friends.

The problem with clouds etc is they're not chaotic or colorful enough. I wouldn't say they're all the same, but they get samey.

Then I found out about deep dream a while ago.

From what I understand, it's basically an AI that guesses what it sees in parts of the image and progressively modifies it to look more like that thing.
In general you get mesmerizing eldritch monstrosities like this one : https://i.imgur.com/2rkYGUs.png

Recently I was really bored and remembered about it, wondering if I could use an AI generated base to refine into a digital painting.
Deep dream in itself wasn't so interesting for that because it's hard to see anything than what it intends you to and its textures are too detailed, requiring insane work to edit it satisfyingly.

Found out about style transfer.
The idea is you take a photo, the content and a painting, the style source. Then it tries its best to keep the content recognizable but applies the style from the painting to it.
Important note : You can quantify how much you want the original content to be recognizable.

So maybe I could generate my own custom clouds now.

So I had to try :

Took 40ish digital paintings I like. Train a style AI on all of those.

Generated 3 layers of multiply colored Perlin noise in Clip Studio Paint as the content starting point.

Fed him this : https://i.imgur.com/30WLX7y.jpg

Tell the 40 stylers to care 10x more about the style than they do in the tutorial.

Make them apply their style a total of 10,000 times.

Received his chaotic colorful masterpiece painting :

Spotted a dragon thing and painted it.

It was very inspiring and fun. I strongly recommend you try messing with it too though you'd need basic Python knowledge.
Otherwise just pass me an imgur album I'll have TensorFlow make a cloud for you :)

TL;DR : Fed noise to a style transfer AI, it spat out wonderful chaos, I spotted and painted a creature hiding in it.

This is SO darn neat Nsyse! I don't fully understand the AI thing to it, but it still looks like it took a ton of time (40hrs I think you said?) and skill to do this. Absolutely so impressive, I really like how it came out!
