Backstory:

The only child of two very busy parents, Al was a shy and quiet kid who just wanted a friend. Things were even more complicated for him being bullied at school and the cousins he considers as “friends” live so far away, he would often keep things to himself, until he encountered pokemon at the age of 8. He befriended a wild sentret near his old house, even eventually the Sentret stop visiting him for any number of reasons, despite this Al felt that he gets along better with Pokemon than with kids his age, Pokemon became his life. Throughout his life he eventually grew out of his awkward-kid stage and began forming friendships with other people, including his town’s Nurse Joy and Officer Jenny. Despite his devotion to Pokemon, he never really got around getting one for himself, he’s usually content with spending time with the ones he helps/works with, Until he stumbled an abandoned Machop… then later on took in a Mareep… than two Sneasels and eventually an Abra and remarkably, a Mew. He has become a father-figure to all those pokemon and has sworn Abra to keep Mew secret and safe.
