So, I made a mould from the sculpt, took a casting from that and did a lot of filling and sanding to even it out. Several layers of primer helped find any raised or pitted areas by keeping the colour even.

I also did the same with the back of the head.

Next stage is making a new mould from these and making a "final" from fibreglass which'll be stiff enough to be hollow and worked on inside & out.

I grabbed a cheap wig off ebay to see how it look with human hair, and it's altered the visual proportions of the face. By that it's made the muzzle seem too small from some angles. Once it gets furred though I think the proportions will change again, and I think I've eyeballed it right.

Also the animatronic ears I was working on are the right scale to use with it. I'll make a nice demonstration. :)

Going to go with all white fur. Leaning toward a black nose, but unsure.

If I take it all the way with facial animatronics, I think it'll be a good argument for avoiding the "uncanny valley" in androids, by making them naturally personable but non-human in appearance.

I also have no doubt this will be a learning experience and I'll be able to make great improvements on the next version.
