so basically the white ghost thing Illi sees is a somewhat phsysical being for her bad thoughts and I thought what about the good thoughts she has and I figured they would look like how she would look now if her life never spiraled down hill

The good thoughts have always been there, they were just weak and unable to really do much good for Illi, but since she's been fighting back against the bad thoughts more the good ones got stronger until one day they burst right through the bad ones to finally "meet" Illi
