The Monster by satoshi64

I want to tell you about something. I found a way to summon a monster, one that some of us have faced and others believe those some are lying when they say that they have. I work at place called "Breaking Magic" it's a place where we look at commercials and other advertising to see if it is true or false the claims they make about the product and also find out how they got it to work in the commercial. Of course this is really a side job to my career as a special effects artist, so I know how to fake a lot of these things. Whereas most of my career consists of creating falsehood, what I am about to tell you about is real. The monster, I referred to, can take many forms and I don't know if we have seen them all.

I went to the boss one day and told him about creepypasta. He was interested and decided that we should see if these are true. So everyone at Breaking Magic had the assignment of looking into creepypasta. I was given the tasks of looking into various video game creepypastas; my friend, across from me in another cubicle, was looking into rituals. Together we helped each other and looked into these stories and how they could be faked, but as I was doing it I kept getting this feeling that some of them are connected. Now I just mean like "Sonic.exe" being connected to "Anti-Sonic.dll", I mean like "Sonic.exe" being connected to "Ben Drowned". My friend had similar feelings about some of his rituals. The two of us decided to look into each others work and it was then that I saw connections between some of the rituals and some of the video game creepypastas I was looking into.

This went on for sometime and we decided to take a risk, we were going to perform one of the rituals. This one was called "The Devil Game". The ritual allows you to have a conversation with an entity whom, according to the text, is the devil. In my conversation I asked him if we were right in thinking that the creepypastas share the same monster. He paused, then he answered "Before midnight, prick your finger and dab the blood on a piece of paper, on the sane piece of paper write your name. Turn off ALL the lights in your house and light a candle. Make sure you have matches or a lighter so you re-light the candle. At midnight, burn the slip of paper with the candle. While doing so cite these words, "This is my name, please come to me." You will then feel as if someone said "Why?", when this happens answer with you reasoning. If "he" feels that the reason is legit you will then be able to see him but don't do anything to anger him. Understood?" "Yes.", I said, afterwards he disappeared.

I told my friend what happened the next day, he told me to try it. Then he told me that in his conversation with "the devil", he asked him the same question and he was told "I can't answer for 'him'." I found it strange that the monster was only referred to as 'he' and 'him'. That night I did the ritual, alone. At midnight I burned the paper and said, "This is my name, please come to me." Then I felt the feeling as if someone had asked "Why?" So I said, "I want to ask you a few questions." Then he appeared, he looked like Sonic.exe except he was real and right in front of me. "Yes?" the monster said. Normally one might be frightened but I wasn't afraid only because as a special effects artist I have seen/made scarier. "I have been researching some stories on the internet and I think they all concern you, am I right in thinking so?" He answered "Some of them are me, but some are lies of my existence."
"What do you mean?"
"I wouldn't handle it like some of those say but the more mythology about me the better."
"You like for people to fear you?"
"I feed off of the fears of mortals."
With that he disappeared, he then said. "My visit comes at a price." I began to wonder what he meant, this was soon answered by heading to work the next day. The boss took me into his office and told me that my friend was in the morgue. He had been mauled to death in his apartment.
