Here is a project I'm working on, starting yesterday. The idea was to make rather abstract, and rampant, random, backgrounds in ink, then when theyve dried up, sit down and extract shapes and figures out of the resulting mess. That way letting the canvas draw images onto my mind, instead of the other way around.
Now, I did also here try out various kinds of paper, and as a result, these were extremely bendy and hard to photograph, but I've tried as best I can. I just hope the ink values Ive followed when drawing come across somewhat clear.
The sizes here are not proportionate either, the top right (A6) being 1/8 the size of the left one (A3) irl.
The top right, being the first one, is augmented reather heavily, with both pastel chalks and charcoal, the bottom right with only a few scratchings of charcoal to assist the ink.
Made listening to Trust <3
(also sorry about the product placement x) I drew it on a paper test swatch and couldnt find a way of properly cropping it out)
I had come to offer some critique and all - but now that I see it's abstract I don't want to - I just want to sit here and interpret the shapes. :P To me - the one on the left reminds me of an egyptian cat or something. Holding it's head high with pride. And then the one in the bottom right looks like two people standing on the left and a hand reaching out to them on the right. Very unique and interesting. <3
